Start with how many drinks you will serve in an hour during your busiest period. That number decides whether you need a single-group machine, a dual-group workhorse or a fully automatic solution.
Next, think about your space and power. Commercial machines often require dedicated electrical circuits and proper water supply. Home machines are more forgiving, but you should still measure your counter space and check the water filtration needs of your area.
Finally, consider how much hands-on control you want. Semi-automatic machines reward practice and give you full control over every shot. Automatic machines are excellent for consistency and speed. Our team can help you compare options side by side.
A great machine can't rescue stale or poorly ground beans, and the best beans can't make up for a poorly calibrated grinder. We think about the whole chain: the roast, the grind, the dose, the water and the extraction.
Start with a fresh bag of our Signature Espresso Blend, grind it fine, and aim for a shot that takes roughly 25 to 30 seconds from the first drop. Adjust the grind to change the time, and adjust the dose to change strength. Taste as you go, and keep a simple log so you can repeat the shots you love.
